A cold and dreary day in the year 1547 in the middle of April was not unusual. What was unusual about this particular day was that the hysterical cries of a woman in labor could be heard all over southern England. This young woman, screaming and writhing in pain was being supported by a rather tall and lanky man. His hair was thinning at the top an graying at the roots. He was showing signs of not being as young as he once was. His beautiful wife began to moan in pain again as she delivered her final push. With a breath, one life was given and another was taken.
